Description: | In this seminar, the speaker will present the historical periods of classical music in Portugal, as well as the main Portuguese composers by understanding and appreciating their works. In addition, the speaker will talk about the critical thinking about Portuguese history, art and culture, through the analysis of the status of Portuguese classical music in an European context. Prof. Dai Bo is a young Chinese composer, pianist and harpsichordist. He obtained a Ph.D. in Composition from Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, where he is currently a Professor of Composition. He was also an art consultant for the project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences “Human, Art and Brain-Inspired Artificial Intelligence”, and the music director of CCTV’s “Multi-Young Science Night”.
