“Ever since the establishment of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) (hereinafter referred to as “Forum Macao”) in 2003, the Central Government as well as the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region (RAEM) have emphasized the importance of the development of the Forum, bringing many opportunities and far-reaching significance to the development of RAEM. Firstly, it has strengthened the ties and exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, fostering friendly relationships and enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation. Secondly, it promotes the economic development of China and Portuguese-speaking countries, facilitates trade and investment between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and promotes cooperation in various fields. In addition, at the diplomatic level, it has provided strong support and achieved good results in maintaining and developing friendly relationships between China and many Portuguese-speaking countries.
